LENNOX:

Honestly, I don't know that there was one moment. I had so many questions that I wanted answers to. Then one day, I decided to sit down with those questions—and somehow, the answers came back to me in lyrics.

I think that's when the music really started.

LENNOX:

Not always. A lot of the time, I'm trying to figure out how I get to that realization—how I somehow already knew the answer, even when I didn't realize I knew it yet.

Writing the song is almost like finding my way back to something that was already there.

LENNOX:

Still Here.

I started with all the things that can make someone wonder how they're still standing—the losses, the mistakes, the moments you thought might take more out of you than you had left to give.

Somewhere in writing it, the question changed.

It stopped being, “How did I survive all of that?” and became, “Look at everything I survived.”

Being still here was an answer all by itself.

LENNOX:

That no matter what I go through, I know God is still beside me, cheering me on.

Even in the moments when I don't feel strong, when I don't understand what's happening, or when I'm not sure how I'm going to keep going—I'm not doing it alone.

I think that's what Still Here ultimately means to me.

LENNOX:

Honestly, one of two things.

Either, “This is fun—I want to hear that again,” or, “I'm so glad somebody finally said the words I could never get out.”

If one of my songs can give somebody either of those feelings, then it did what I wanted it to do.

LENNOX:

Can I say Lennox Has Grit? 😂

Because I don't know if there's just one song. They all show a different piece of me.

LENNOX:

Grace Got Grit. No question. 😂

That song comes on and apparently I'm incapable of behaving myself.

LENNOX:

I Owe Me an Apology.

That one hits differently.

Sometimes the hardest person to forgive isn't somebody else—it's yourself.

Hearing it back reminds me how much grace we can give everybody around us while refusing to give any to ourselves.

LENNOX:

I Couldn't Lie to Myself. 😂

There are songs you're proud of, and then there are songs that almost surprise you because they become bigger than what you originally heard in your head.

That was one of those for me.

LENNOX:

Oh, that's a hard one. 😂

I've definitely made things that didn't turn out the way I heard them in my head, but I don't know if I'd call any of them bad.

Sometimes a song just isn't ready yet—or I haven't figured out what it's supposed to be.

LENNOX:

Spending quality time with my little family.

Nothing fancy. Just being together, laughing, eating good food, probably giving each other a hard time.

Those are the days that fill me back up.

Um… is there a bag of coffee I can just hook directly into my veins?

Because coffee.

Definitely coffee. 😂

It can go both ways, but I definitely lean sweet.

And if chocolate is involved? Yeah, my self-control has officially left the building. 🍫😂

Night owl. Without question.

If you see me happily functioning early in the morning, either I haven't gone to bed yet or somebody bribed me with coffee. 😂

Stay home in comfy clothes.

Every time.

Mountains.

Give me the trees, the quiet, the views, and somewhere I can just disappear for a little while.

That's my kind of peace.

I love both, but sunsets hit differently.

There's something about watching the day end in all those colors that makes you stop for a minute.

A sunrise feels like possibility.

A sunset feels like reflection.

BLASTING. Absolutely. 😂

Absolutely no sense at all. 😂

I can go from country to rock to gospel to something from twenty years ago, then suddenly there's a song nobody expected.

Don't ask what genre the playlist is.

The genre is “I like it.”

Cats. Definitely cats. 🐈

I love that they can be sweet and cuddly one minute and then look at you like you've personally offended their entire bloodline the next. 😂

Small get-together, definitely.

Give me a handful of people I really care about, good food, good music, and conversations where nobody has to yell over a room full of strangers.

LENNOX:

Nashville. No question.

There's so much music and history there.

To stand somewhere in that city and sing one of my own songs?

Yeah… that would mean something.

LENNOX:

Grace Got Grit.

If Nashville is meeting me for the first time, I'm coming through the door with some attitude. 😂🎸

LENNOX:

Honestly? I have no idea. 😂

I'd probably be terrified.

I'd like to think I'd say a quick prayer, take a second to remember why I started doing this, and then walk out there before I had enough time to talk myself out of it.

LENNOX:

I hope they learn that I'm just down to earth.

I love making music, and I love being able to share something I enjoy creating with other people.

If something I make gives somebody a good time, makes them feel understood, or gives them something they needed that day, that's enough for me.

LENNOX:

The feeling.

Hands down.

Lyrics matter. The sound matters. But if you don't feel something when it's over, then I haven't done what I wanted to do.

I want you to laugh, cry, turn it up, sit with it—whatever the song calls for.

Just feel something.

LENNOX:

…are looking for answers they can't quite find—or who are carrying something they haven't been able to put into words yet.

Sometimes you know exactly what you're feeling; you just don't know how to say it.

I want my music to help you say it.

LENNOX:

I hope people remember how the music made them feel.

I don't need everyone to remember my name or every song I've ever made.

But if one of my songs found you when you needed it—if it gave you words you couldn't find, made you feel less alone, or just gave you three minutes where you could turn it up and have fun—then that's what I'd want to leave behind.

I want people to remember the feeling.
